Quick report
The snowpack consisted of 4-6" of new snow that fell on Thursday and is beginning to facet out with cooler temperatures. Low density snow is sitting on mostly firm surfaces which makes for some slippery skinning in steep terrain. Hand shears and pole tests continue to reveal right-side-up snowpack with good structure and excellent stability. Old tracks can be felt underfoot and while riding in many locations. We were able to pop out a tiny slab at ridgeline that was approximately 5x5 ft and 6" deep, and it immediately stalled and didn't move. The only sluffing we observed today was small, slow, and inconsequential. This may become more of a problem in coming days, with cold temperatures expected to persist. We experienced slightly deeper conditions while out riding snowmachines on the Willow side today, and also did not observe any signs of instability.
No signs of instability were observed today other than small inconsequential dry loose sluffs in steep terrain.Weather
