We dug a pit just outside the ski area boundary on a SW aspect at 11,550 ft. The slope angle was 40 degrees, and the height of snow was 305cm. As I started digging we heard a large colapse. I was unsure of how this would affect the results of stability tests but continued anyway and got an ECTP19@200. The column slid on the melt freeze crust bed surface with no help from the shovel. We also got a CT15Q1@200.
