Party of three making our way down ridge to East Bowl pass. First skier approached west facing slope (in East Bowl) to assess snow, decided it was too loaded and not appropriate to ski, kick turned away and triggered 18" deep slab farther back from ridge than expected. Very touchy, propagated approximately 75' wide and had a lot of mass as it ran through mature timber. Failure plane appeared to be old interface of melt freeze crust from before the storm with 4" of fist-resistance snow directly on top. Above that was a 1finger storm slab and then 10" of unconsolidated powder. Intense green-housing observed directly before event. Estimated at D2.
