High winds from the S-SW transporting lots of high density snow/wintery mix. The rollovers typical on the Wimpy’s ridges were the biggest I’ve seen them in awhile, with lots of stiff windboard on the windward, S-SE side of the ridge. N-NE side of the ridge had some high density soft snow which was pretty quickly becoming cohesive and built up, all this becoming more prevalent while gaining elevation. Spacial variability in the snowpack becoming more and more complex. Turned around before 9000’ after a large collapse triggering a slab along with increasing winds and transport of snow. Interestingly, did not observe any shooting cracks, even in the very stiff wind-affected areas. Wind slabs seemed to be building quickly and were already becoming very touchy.

Felt a large collapse while skinning up, remote triggered a hard wind slab from about 50ft above a convex rollover on which the slab failed. 1ft deep at edges and potentially up to 3ft deep at the center of the crown. Most likely built from the high density snow over the last 24-36 hours which created a cohesive, dense hard slab in lee, northeast facing areas on top of an obvious density break in the newer snow.
