Death Canyon

Beautiful day to get high into the Alpine. Decent amount of other groups had the same idea. Fairly stable conditions, except isolated wind slabs in upper elevations on north to east aspects less than 16" deep, which are continually gaining strength with strong temperature fluctuations. Lots of signs of wind affect with varied surface conditions especially above treeline. Majority of the north shots into Death Canyon had slid naturally, combination of hard bed surface and wind loading after the last storm. Observed some natural acitivity on steep near/above 40 degrees on E/NE/SE aspects that were wind loaded in upper elevations. Found some increased activity during the warming of the day with a dry loose avalanche running over the cliff bands. South facing terrain definitely active with rapid warming the last few days, lots of rollers and D1.5 avalanches.
