We encountered clear skies above 4,000' in elevation. Winds were calm and recorded temperatures were slightly above freezing at locations above inversion layer.
Snowpack
Snowpack assessment and stability tests revealed an overall stable snowpack . Test results were ECTX in the extended column test and CT21/Q3 in the compression test with failure occurring below the upper crust layer. Roughly 20 cm's of loose sugary snow rests on the November 23rd rain crust layer. Surface hoar crystals 1-2 cm's tall were observed growing on snowpack surface on north and east aspects at treeline and below. Snowpack depth at 5,500' totaled 55 cm's which is approximately half the depth that we are seeing in the East Cabinets on similiar aspects and elevations. The riding is pretty good and the blowdown across the trail now has a path cut to the base of slope.
