Thanks for the great beta arial shots a couple days ago! Came in handy 😊 Here’s a brewer creek update from Saturday 5/9: See pics. I’d say Brewer is better access than the gulch at the moment, starting at about the same elevation and similar amount of walking after skiing (~15-20? Min to car). But brewer had a much cleaner ski/dirt transition (Gulch required ~5x on/offs, while brewer you could ski clean in one of the gulleys with no on/offs). “everywhere snow” level is about 7.3-7.4k on brewer. Another note: snow in the final gulley above 12.5k on hotlum/wintun route still hasn’t fully transitioned/consolidated yet. New snow depth varied from a couple inches to a foot. although it is wet snow, it hasn’t yet fully consolidated into that hero corn. So above 12+k you had more ski/pole penetration than lower on the mountain (where it has fully transitioned). We skied at ~12:30, but we could have skied at 10am and had the same soft slushy snow. The exception was the old tracks, which had been compressed/consolidated. It skied really well, especially if you avoided the old tracks. If folks ski it in the next few days before it consolidates, you definitely wouldn’t want to ski it too late in the day. Lower clear creek looked to be covered a dust layer. Experienced rock fall both days.
