Blue skies at 1000 gave way to overcast by mid-day and steady snowfall by 1500. 9" new snow @ 5000', 11" new snow @ 6400. We encountered several loud whoomphfs, beginning at 6000', as we ascended to Glidden Ridge 6600'. Slight sun crust on surface of open solar exposed slopes. Pit 1: 6000', S aspect, height of snow 155cm, double crust with weak snow between about 30cm from surface, CT4 @ 140cm BRK, CT12 @ 85cm SP density change between large polycrystals, Multiple ECTN's. No cracking or whoomphfs on 6600' ridgeline. Faint D1 natural crown on N aspect approx. 6300', likely failed on Monday or earlier. 5800' to 5000' south aspect less than a foot of snow on sun exposed slopes.
