Snowpack Test Results: - CT (Compression Test): 30cm x 30cm column test - CT10 at 3 in down from the surface: Resistant planer in the recent storm layers. - CT8 at 5 ½ in down from the surface: Thin ice lens formed with rain/moisture at the beginning of the last storm. - Microcrust noted at 5 ½ : Thin crust with 2mm facets growing underneath. - ECT (Extended Column Test): 30cm x 90cm Length - ECTX (no propagation) observed during the test across the column, indicating stability in the upper snowpack above the layer of concern at around 2 - 3½ ft (71 cm. - 110 cm approx.) - No cracking or "whumpfing" sounds observed. - Ski penetration: 2 cm into the surface; boot penetration off skis with full weight reached 5 inches down down before hitting more solid snow. - No recent avalanche activity observed in the visible area.
