Lovely day. No wind, sunshine and cold dry snow.
Snowpack
I observed a generally thin, discontinuous snowpack across much of the Fan. Central Gully, the top of Odell’s, and South Gullies, while narrow, are well connected, smooth, and planar. These features could support large avalanches and would be highly consequential due to steep terrain and exposure to hazards below.
Wind effects were mixed. Some areas appeared wind-affected and textured, while others, particularly slabs below Central and the Harvard Bulge looked smooth and untextured.
Observations were limited to visual assessments from a distance.
