Continued wind and increasing snowfall are allowing for the building of future wind slabs. They will typically be found on N, NE, and E aspects at mid to upper elevations. Graupel was not widespread enough to allow for a significant problem in the future. Bare, exposed terrain with thin snow cover will make some travel difficult in the future. Weather began with sleet and mixed precip and then progressed to a flakier and softer precip. The only cracking observed was upon isolation with few hand shears and kick turns. The cracking was very specific.

It felt cold with strong/extreme southern winds and cool temperatures around 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Snow did not start to build up until around noon.
Snowpack
The snowpack was variable today. There was a thin wind slab/crust in the lower snowfields with pockets of graupel beneath. Snow was actively being transported and varying slabs ranging from 3 cm - 20 cm were observed. In the base of Tuck's there was much more transportation and variability between surfaces. The graupel layer was not observed. Surface ranged from icy and bare to stiffer wind drifts that were 30 cm deep. We discussed how the thicker drifts and observed slabs were likely from previous snow and wind events.
