Quick report
Group of 6 left Pinkham Notch Trailhead at 11am. Boot-hiked up until the first bridge and skinned from there. Patchy trail on the way up until the first sherb exit. This seemed to melt substantially throughout the day as we hiked out that way as well. Reached the base of Tuck's at about 2:30pm and witnessed the 2x big falls in the bowl (both in the lip area over the waterfalls). We hiked in 2 groups of 3 up the Lobster Claw trail and rested at the top for a while. The snow here was fantastic, even though it had been baked by the sun all day. Some concern for sluff, but not a significant amount accumulating. The Sherb was in to the last duck-out. Unfortunately saw some people ducking the rope, but I suppose it's expected when that many people are in Tuck's. Two major areas to remove skis and walk down, but the rest was skiable right to the "bottom" (of the open section). Debriefed the trip with the team. Most notes were about overpacking. The late start allowed us to ski the right side of the ravine in relative peace- left gulley looked like an absolute mad house.
