Today I triggered a small wind slab avalanche just above the rollover into the Chute headwall. While ascending we noted multiple isolated pockets of 1-4 finger, 2-4 inch thick wind slab on top of poorly consolidated transported snow. Between these pockets the new slab was generally well bonded and stubborn. Before descending we decided to avoid the large convex slab that forms the ridge above the cliffs on skiers left opting for the steeper but less exposed center option. We skied one at a time down from the top of the chute to the large rock. I started to ski into the steep headwall when the slab released at my skis. I was able to stop without issue and watched the slab slide down the chute. After the slide we skied the bed surface down and out of the chute.
