Quick report

Cracking
isolated

Wanted to see how wind is loading upper elevation terrain. Toured up to Purple Ridge, and dug a pit adjacent to on I dug on 11/21, and found a new 7-15 cm layer of wind compacted grains on an East aspect around 11,480ft. Terrain along the ridgeline was cross loading from north winds, as well as loading from west winds. This new wind layer exhibited localized cracking in deep, loaded gullys along the ridge. This layer failed on CT-6, but ECTN, so we felt comfortable skiing some adjacent terrain that had similar loading patterns.
