Quick report
Searching for consistent depth and textured, soft snow, which we found. Wind was strong at upper elevations early, around 12,000’, but transport was very limited to some swirls. Quick hand pits around 10,100’ on a NE aspect showed the crust slowly faceting and losing strength, morphing into the weak layer below. Slabs also appeared to be losing strength, NTL and BTL. The weak inversion is also producing >1cm surface hoar below ~10,000’ on all aspects.
Avalanche
Some large avalanches on steep, NTL, east facing terrain in the basin. I believe these were previously coded. Small wet loose activity as well on all aspects (holding snow) BTL, from rock bands.
