Snowpack

Found 18" of settled storm snow on a stout rain crust up to 3000' from 12/10.  Hand shear tests produced easy failure at the interface, with failure on isolation (very easy) observed twice .  Along wind exposed terrain features found the snow to be upside down with collapsing present.

Above 3000' 12/10 rain crust was very thin.  Hand shears continued to show easy results and storm wind effect had become more widespread.  Pit results at 3700' produced ECTN11 down 25cms (mid storm slab density change) and ECTN16 down 45 cms New/ Old interface.  Height of snowpack was 120cms .
