A clear sunny day with increasing solar radiation. Mostly calm in our area with a light NE breeze at higher elevations. Moderate NE wind in specific high-elevation areas was transporting snow all day.

Snowpack

The most recent storm snow was 10-20-cm in depth and was faceted throughout. No intact buried surface hoar was observed at the expected interface throughout the observed area. Good stability was observed but we encourage travelers not to apply this observation to other areas where snowpack conditions are unknown. It is possible to find reactive buried surface hoar in other areas. Caution is advised if traveling in an area where there are few snowpack observations.

Moderate NE winds in specific areas are expected to have created pockets of fresh wind slabs today.

Recent Surface Hoar formation on snow surface:  2mm at lower elevations becoming 4mm well-formed crystals at higher elevations.
