Solar heat effected the snow creating sticky conditions that quickly turned to a crust when the sun fell behind the mountains. Afternoon temps were -2C in the shade, 4C in the sun @ ~1800ft. The valley fog protected the snow for the first part of the day, making most of our first lap soft and enjoyable. Second lap, snow was sun effected. We also felt a good whoomph on our approach. ~1900ft.
