Quick report

Adventured up Taylor Canyon into Banana Chute. The snow became too loose and steep to skin or boot so we went to the southern ridge of the chute at 7700 ft. Hiked up the ridge to 8100 ft, returned to the chute and found an 8" wind slab on top of faceted snow above consequential terrain. We decided to backtrack on our route instead of continuing up the chute. Skiing down the chute from the top of allen peak tram is not recommended with the location and size of the wind slab.
