Quick report

3rd day in a row touring north of the ski area. Didn't observe any obvious signs of instability. Hand shear tests on W through NW aspects showed 1-2' of new snow on top of the late January crust. This new snow was right side up Fist down to 1 F. I was able to isolate a slab, but it took some pressure. The slow loading of snow through the week has resulted in it bonding fairly well to crust. Ski cuts and stomping around on test slopes >35deg yielded no results. The only activity observed was some dry loose snow running short distances in very steep terrain. Winds were 10-15 sustained and out of the west. But no wind slabs had formed yet.
