Observed an R1, D1 avalanche on an east aspect at ~8600 while ascending towards Lone Pine, in West Mail Cabin Creek. The avalanche was on the new/old snow interface, and the slab was approximately, 40cm deep. The small slide was remotely triggered by another party from ~10 m above the crown. Widespread cracking was observed, and storm slabs were quickly stiffening into wind slabs at exposed elevations. Widespread, natural avalanche activity was observed at mid elevations in "the options".
