Quick report

Collapsing
specific

Surface hoar development on west-facing, protected slopes, both in trees on descent to the bottom of the Nose and on the skintrack back up. I saw collapsing while setting the skintrack from the weather station to Chiver's, particularly near the top of the ridge near the drop-in point. Didn't have time to dig a pit, so I can't be sure whether it was a weak layer like surface hoar or facets, or the rain crust cracking and collapsing. New surface hoar development on the skintrack from the Nose to the pass summit parking lot. West-facing slopes. ~2mm tall.
