50 cm new snow falling heavily throughout the day. rapid wind loading (westerly winds). temps rose 5 degrees during the day today. slough running like water in steep terrain. wind slab development in the alpine. Towards the end of the day (2-4pm) there was wind slab development around 10k on ridgetops. At mid elevations limited cracking was observed and a few small pockets (1-2m wide, 10-20cm depth) were skier triggered on convexities.

temps at 10k; 5 degrees at 6 am rising to 10 degrees by 4 pm. winds gusting 40-60 out of the WSW. heavy snowfall continuing into the evening.

Snowpack

up to 50cm of new snow was observed throughout the day. new snow is sitting on a variety of surfaces; mainly sun crusts on solars and faceted grains on northerly aspects.
