Snowpack
- Instability Comment
-
Found a surprisingly stable snowpack for the amount of snow and wind over the last few days. Normal slide paths clearly ran big but we found that whatever didn't looked and felt surprising stable. Managed to set off 1 slow moving storm fluff that ran maybe 100' on the top foot of new snow. My pit dug at 9100' ENE facing had a ECTN 13 at about 30cm deep. No other suggestions of instability on any aspect or elevation. The little hints of sun that poked out were the only reminder that it's almost April.

Considering the wind speed we were again surprised at how little reactivity we found, however I assume that higher up around 10-11k' there will be more wind-affected snow.
