We turned around mid-way, due to gear issues so we did not complete the full traverse. The snow may be better on the North East side of Dolomite.
On the up track, the snow is dry and sugary, and it does not provide any sort of base.
About 30 cm of snow, but that is just enough to hide the rocks and roots, not enough to keep you from hitting them. Everyone in our group needs a new tune after the first ski of the season.
Needs more time, more moisture, and more snow.
