Approximately 25 cms of HST are overlying the MFcr from earlier in the week making for an interesting time out there. Limiting exposure and selecting appropriate terrain features to ski helped with risk management and group decision making.
Several Na, Sa, Sc, Sr 5-10m sz 1-1.5 were observed this afternoon on steep to moderate W facing trees. The storm snow is sloughing off the Mfcr and does not appear to be bonding well. 20-30cm crowns were not observed running past the stauchwall, 10-15m. Likewise, lateral propagation 5-10m. Steep slopes, concavities and shallow spots are proving to be excellent triggers. Avalanches on other aspects were not observed but are likely.
