Quick report
The conditions at Powderhouse were night and day since Monday and Tuesday. The horrendous breakable crust from those days were covered by new snow. I ascended to 9000 ft, and the snow was definitely lighter above about 8400 ft. Below that, it was noticeably denser. Below about 8200 ft, I sometimes hit the crust. But in general, descent conditions were great with light powder skiing all the way down to the car.

It had been raining in Meyers about 1.5 hrs by 3 pm. At the Powderhouse Trailhead, it snowed the whole time I was out between 3 and 4:30. I observed the rain/snow line as I drove back down to Meyers.
Snowpack
Between 3 and 4 pm, the near surface snowpack consisted of new snow, beneath which was a crust, then rounding facets underneath. At 8000 ft, 8 cm new snow. At 8500 ft on a N aspect, 22 cm new snow of F hardness and size 0.5 mm, 2 cm P crust, then the rounding facets of 4F hardness and size 1 mm. At 8900 ft on a NE slope on the leeward side of the winds, 34 cm new snow, followed by 2 cm crust and facets underneath.
