Quick report
Skinned up a northwest facing aspect to the top at 6,800’. Firm, wind-packed snow. The new snow was in varying depths where it was scoured or deposited around the trees and previous wind drifts. No whomping or cracking. Dug a put just over the top of the ridge, on the southeast aspect where morning and overnight snow had been deposited. A slab broke fairly easily on the underlying hard crust. New cornices were building and there was evidence of drifted snow on the open slope below. Did not see any avalanches.
