Juliana Garcia and I traveled out to Lost World via Iceberg lake today and found surprisingly good snow conditions along our route! The new snow was supportable and springy, not as heavy and gloppy as we expected (still a little gloppy and heavy, though). We saw rollerballs all over the place especially on south aspects. We observed light E winds gusting to moderate and strong up at ridgeline with moderate wind-loading, and were able to produce reactive small (10-15cm) wind slabs on test slopes near ridgeline at the Herman Saddle. We saw wind-transport on most ridgelines and lots of wind effect on Baker and Ptarmigan Ridge.
Avalanche
Saw evidence of the wet slab cycle on most peaks, especially on northerly aspects. Impressive propagation, with most crown lines wrapping around several terrain features!
