Ski tour on the W facing pocket creek middle glade (~4000' - 5500'). Observed instabilities in steeper sections of the skin track on lower elevation band at mid day, including cracking/collapse and hand shear pulls into a cohesive slab with easy pressure . Snowpack profile and propagation tests performed at 14:55 at 5500' on 35degree slope in treed area. HS 175cm . PST 43/100 (End) down 60cm. Interestingly, an extended collumn test 15 feet away on same elevation and slope angle did not show propagation (ECTX). Based on observation and test results we adjusted downhill plans to enter the glade only in low angle terrain despite seeing other parties ski without incident.
