Quick report
About 50cm of fresh near Artist point. Maybe 1/2 that of new at the heather meadows parking lots. Pretty wet snow. Snowing/precipitating consistently slowly maybe 1cm/hour. Consistent winds, and pockets of wind loading. Some very light consolidating wind blown snow pockets - a hand shear in one small drift showed some consolidation (we were able to pick up slabby snow that was noticeably different than the snow underneath). Easy travel from meadows to artist point. Very early season - early season hazards do in fact exist folks. Overall, good base building. Lots of people excited to get out. Definitely some wind loading occurring even in the heavy early snow. A great Oct day for skiing.
