Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
While no large avalanches were observed today, we did note significant instabilities in the new snow from this week. Cold snow is still present, but solar slopes were heavily impacted today due to the inversion and sun effect. Might be worth exercising extra caution to steep slopes on the southerly part of the compass.
Got isolated pockets of storm snow to fracture on steep unsupported slopes on the Xmas Eve interface.Weather

Slightly inverted temps today. Very cold in the valley, and warmer than expected up high.
Snowpack
Despite the gradual loading we've experienced in recent days, the sunny weather and inverted temperatures have contributed to a cohesive slab structures within the new snow. This seems to be more prominent on solar aspects due to warming. Meanwhile, polar aspects appear to be maintaining a mostly right-side-up structure at this time
Avalanche
Lots of new dry loose avalanches on steep terrain. No large avalanches triggered or observed.
