Lanham Lake

The height of snow doubled with over 1 meter of settled storm snow from March 8-13th. The hardness profile is generally right-side-up, progressing from softer to harder. Boot Penetration is 50-80cm with ski penetration ~40cm. Trailbreaking is still relatively deep. We saw significant signs of settlement, including large settlement cones with cracks and wrinkles near depressions and features.

Where observed, layers in the upper snowpack are well-bonded, including to both the 3/12 crust, ↓60-80cm, and the 3/8 crust, ↓110-120cm. A slight weak layer exists above the 3/8 crust, but it's generally not problematic, and didn't produce test results. The old mid-Feb cruts/weak layers, ↓130-160cm, have transformed into melt forms and are mostly unrecognizable. Of note, for the upcoming rain/wetting, there's a relatively thick, weak layer of moist, 4Finger-4F+ hard melt forms about 150cm below the surface.
