Quick report
For most of the day we saw very few signs of instability. We traveled fairly conservatively above treeline. Below treeline we skied steeper terrain and long running dry loose avalanches were easy to trigger. During a short band of heavier precipitation later in the day (S5) we noted some more cohesion of the surface snow in places. Shortly after this we noticed a new slab avalanche that was either natural or sympathetically trigger by one of our sloughs. This avalanche ran down to rocks and appeared to take out all of the storm snow but was small relative to the path.
Avalanche
We observed one avalanche on an east aspect at ~6000 ft below Hogback mountain. SS-U-R1-D1-I ~50 feet wide and 2 feet deep. It appeared to take out all of the storm snow.
