Quick report

Triggered many reactive wind slabs today. Though they were small, in bigger more consequential terrain they could have been more of a problematic. Otherwise good snow and flat light. Deep snowpack which seemed to cover lots of rocky and bouldery zones. Minimal wind and solar effect today.

Triggered multiple small wind slabs.

Weather

Cloud Cover
few

Light winds from the west. Few clouds in the morning increasing slightly throughout the day. No precip. No active wind loading today and minimal signs of recent loading.

Snowpack

Dug at 6100' on an E/NE slope on the east side of Kangaroo Ridge. Height of snow was 250cm with the AR crust down 125cm. We got a resistant planar result on a compression test 20cm and 60cm down on old storm interfaces.

Avalanche

Ski cut the panel off the Notch (NE). Broke a 20cm wind slab, 40ft wide (D1.5) but didnt entrain enough snow to bury a person.
