Quick report
Numerous wet loose avalanches were observed while traveling from Paradise to Mazama Ridge on S and SW aspects. Avalanches appeared ~1 day old. Very warm temperatures with active surface melting were observed. Snow coverage was adequate for skiing, though low for the season, with exposed creeks present. Snowpit Observations: Two pits were dug on SE-facing aspects at Mazama Bowl at 5,800 ft on a 29–30° test slope. Column depth: 120 cm Weak layers/crusts: From 02/14 and 02/07, located ~85 and 95 cm below the surface. Stability Tests Pit 1: ECTX Pit 2: ECTN23 Shovel Shear: Extended column loosened during shovel placement without forward force PST: No propagation
