Quick report

Things were really popping off in the Baker backcountry this weekend. Rain events on Friday and especially Saturday were soaking wet. Once visibility allowed, there were debris fields from avalanches of all types: a long crown line visible across the apron at the bottom of Stonemane couloir, tons of natural loose wet on the sides of Mt Herman (north, east, & south aspects,) wet slab crown walls here and there (north aspect on the way up to Artists Point, pictured, and also SE aspect of Table Mountain visible from Artists Point,) even an occasional glide-crack here & there. Sunday midday was precip-free until 3pm, with reasonable skiing on wet “soft-serve ice cream” snow surfaces.
