Quick report

Cracking
isolated

Slight instability. Weather had started at about 33-34°f and cooled to 28° through the day, overcast with snowfall at the end of the day. Dug a pit, and found 170cm snow pack on a North-NorthWest facing slope of roughly 25° slope angle. Upon testing conditions, we found medium packing on the shovel broke at about 145cm with what appeared to be a wind blown layer, and between medium and heavy packing on the shovel would break a column at about 105cm depth. At this depth there is a melt freeze crust. We rode in tree'd areas most of the day, with moderately aggressive riding, but maintaining great caution.

Avalanche

Steep steep slopes, north facing. Nothing out of the ordinary for unrideable terrain but heightened our worries a little for the day.
