40-60cm of new snow above 5,000ft…Whomping between 5,500-6,200 on flat to 28 degree slopes. Storm came in pretty wind affected. It was obvious we would not be skiing anything steep given the amount of new snow with wind. Dug an east facing pit down to the dirt, 105 cm at 6200 feet and found three significant layers 15 to 20 cm failing after 2 to 3 wrist and elbow taps on isolalated columns. Bottom layer failed on top of the rain crust from November 22.. skied 25 degree laps and wait for conditions to settle and improve
