Quick report

* Traveled on NE-, E-, S-, and SW-facing aspects. * No signs of instability noticed during uphill or downhill travel. * Small surface hoar starting to develop. * Hand pit on SW-aspect at 7,525 ft elevation showed approximately 25 cm thick surface slab forming that could be pulled off with medium force, on an interface with a thin, weak layer, similar to an observation from the area on 10 Jan. I suspect the slab thickness difference is aspect-related. I compare this to Thursday, where the new snow was not yet becoming slabby, so I suspect consolidation and warming temperatures over the past couple days are the culprit -- still some excellent turns to be found! * Small wet loose point releases seen on steep, S-facing aspects, originating at rocks (see example photo)
