Intermittent cracking and collapsing. It was't really specific to a certain type of terrain, fairly widespread throughout the terrain, but frequency was less than observed in recent days.

Some splashes of sun here and there, but generally a much colder, windier day than we've seen recently. Skies becoming overcast in the afternoon as moisture pushed in from the west. Lost visibility of the Sawtooths around 1500, about the same time that light precip started on Horton. This was frozen (not raining) all the way to valley bottom on my exit around sunset.
