Avalanche

Today at 1:30pm. We were ascending towards the summit at about 6,400 on north-east approach. We decided to traverse out due to pitch, conditions and timing. Upon moving out skier triggered an avalanche that broke off about 3 feet down, likely on the deep, weak persistent layer. Debris field was perhaps 100yards long, funneling quickly into a narrow (10yards or so) slide. Skier was carried almost to the end of the debris and buried about 2 feet. Skier was recovered with only minor injuries.
