Quick report
We skied W facing glades around 6500ft and experienced almost no wind, despite seeing fast moving clouds overhead. New snow height was up to 30cm on W facing terrain. E and N facing terrain nearby was largely wind affected with scouring down to the EFC as well as pockets of 40cm drifts. The sun get warm but did not seem to affect the snow with any warming throughout the day. In sheltered terrain (w facing and localized pockets of other aspects) significant surface hoar had developed on the new snow and was not broken down by the sun. Overall snowpack dismal below 4500 feet or on sun exposed terrain, much better above with surprisingly good coverage in select terrain.
Avalanche
Prominent large crowns near ridge line on N and NE facing terrain near 7000ft. Hard to tell if these were from the recent storm or the previous avy cycle that formed the EFC. Estimated at D2.5. This terrain appeared to be heavily wind loaded.
