A few inches of dense new snow on a crust at lower elevations. The top layer of snow was deeper and more powdery from 3500'/4000' but the tree wells were still only a few feet deep max. Around 2600' while setting a skin track I noticed the snow cracking around my skis. Otherwise there were no signs of instability.
