Quick report
- Collapsing
- specific
Loud "whumpfing" collapse heard and felt near a convexity on a ~25-degree angle north-facing slope near 3,300-ft elevation (no propagating cracks noted). Whumpfing was isolated to near the convexity and no other obvious signs of snowpack instability were observed during the outing. Our group was snowshoe-traveling on slopes of less than 30 degrees in pitch.
