Quick report
Parked at 3800 ft, one mile before the trailhead and started skinning right away. The road had 5" of new snow. The trees were thickly covered, dripping heavily and dropping large tree bombs up to 5000 ft. The snow was heavy and sticky at times on the way up but overall breaking trail was easy. The weather went from overcast, to sunny, to heavy fog at the summit, and some snowing on the way down. The west slope of north peak was a thin soft crust, only a few inches thick from the ground in places. The north slope had thicker snow that was a bit grabby at first in the open and soon became dryer powder in the trees. We stuck to 30° slopes in the open and 35° in the trees. Few roller balls obvserved, one mini slide, but overall no signs of instability. By the time we came down the snow had melted quite a bit on the trail and had to be booted in one section, but the road was still skiable.
