Quick report
There were plenty of warning signs on the way up - a lack of refreeze the night prior, slushy snow on the final steep section (45deg), and some light rain for about half an hour. The weather was very cloudy so solar radiation did not seem to be much of a factor. The snow felt stable for booting up the face, but when loaded from above with our skis was extremely reactive.
Avalanche
A shallow but wide wet loose avalanche occurred when my partner was doing a ski cut/wide turn to assess stability at the top of the wy'east face. It started small and slow but gained speed and mass as it went further, eventually sliding over a rock band and splitting into two streams that caused even larger wet slides below. The whole avalanche covered ~1,500 vertical feet, from 10.5 to 9k. It occurred on the 4th turn from the summit ridge.
