Observed widespread Surface Hoar all the way down Madison Ave and Spire Gully, even late in the day. Sizes lower on the slopes ranged from 2-4mm while grains higher were up to 10-15mm. Got some cracking at the top of spire. Mostly a soft slab with minimal energy. Dug at 6500' (SE) in Madison Ave. HS 180cm. Solstice crust was down 80cm. Got 2x CT M SP 30cm down on an old snow layer with a density change (4F-1F). Quick look just seemed like decomposing fragments. No zipper crust observed at this location or depth. Few to Sct clouds all day, with calm winds. No new avalanches observed.
