Quick report
Lots of open creeks below 3400’, hard snow in open areas. Some creek snow bridges may be gone in a day or two. Recent D1s near snow pit I dug on west face of Kendall stump. Pit test yielded wet to moist snow pack down to solstice crust. CTH23 SP @105cm down on solstice crust, but no reliable propagation results (ectx, pstx). Snow is quite dense now and hard to move unless isolated in a column from my limited obs. Air temp warmed several degrees from 10-12pm from freezing to above. Valley fog above 3500’ or so. Snow became skiable on way down vs hard surfaces on way up.
Avalanche
Not observed actively. D1ish. Wet. Unknown trigger. North of my snow pit nearby. Crossing PCT and runout just below.
