Below cascade pass there was about 4 inches of low density snow on top of a very icy crust. In some places it was scoured to ice, making for difficult booting without crampons. Above cascade pass, south and east slopes were loaded with over a foot of fresh snow, but there was no slab cohesion or propagation. Several loud whoompfs on the sahale arm in flatter areas, but no cracks or anything. Arm was largely wind stripped. The glacier had over two feet of fresh snow, but the same unconsolidated dense powder produced no reactivity. Almost no naturals were observed. Sun had no effect on the snow all day.
